VFW Post 1581 worked with Texas Roadhouse to get $1,300.00 worth of gift cards for use in supporting Veterans. VFW Post 1581 presented Texas Roadhouse 156th and Dodge an award to the GM of that location. In the past, we have provided gift cards for catering and New Visions Veteran Homeless center to feed Veterans. We also provide gift cards to Veterans that are in town from remote location for VA surgery. We work through the Omaha Fisher House for the Veteran gift cards which the stay is a free, temporary lodging option for families of veterans and military service members being treated at the Omaha VA Medical Center. The Fisher House is a short walk from the hospital.
